High-ranking US national security officials informed President Donald Trump on Saturday of the US military's readiness to strike Iran, CBS reported, citing sources familiar with the discussions.
According to the channel's sources, the military has informed Trump about their readiness for possible action, but the president has not yet made a final decision on launching strikes. The sources clarified that the possible date of operation may be extended after this weekend in the conditions of technical preparation of operations in the coming days.
As the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday, citing sources, Trump is discussing the possibility of an initial limited strike against Iran's military and government facilities in order to force them to sign a nuclear agreement, and if the Iranian authorities do not agree to Trump's demands to stop enriching uranium, the United States will respond with a large-scale military campaign.
