During the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stated that he considers the Russian Federation to be a great friend of his country. The broadcast of the meeting between the two leaders was carried out by the "Russia-24" TV channel.
"Russia has been a great friend of Palestine for more than 50 years. Every time we visit Moscow, we feel that there is a special spiritual connection between our countries. Moscow is our second home, here we are among friends," the Palestinian leader emphasized.
Abbas added that the Russian Federation has "always taken a strong position in defense of the Palestinian people", and also expressed hope that with Moscow's support it will be possible to achieve "peace, which will be built on the basis of observing the UN resolutions".
