The Netherlands has declared that Greenland is not for sale and remains part of Denmark

Greenland is not subject to sale to the United States, and its status is solely a matter for the Kingdom of Denmark. This opinion was expressed by the Acting Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoff, commenting on the debate over the US interest in the island.

"As far as I know, Greenland is not for sale. This is the Kingdom of Denmark, and I have always understood that it has no intention of taking such a step," Shoaf said on RTL television. He also emphasized that the Netherlands fully supports Copenhagen's position.

In his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 21, US President Donald Trump stated that the United States was "very stupid" in returning Greenland to Denmark after World War II, and that his country intends to achieve the transfer of Greenland from Denmark for the deployment of the large-scale Golden Dome missile defense system.
