FT. Kiev's G7 allies plan to discuss guarantees for Ukraine with Trump in Davos

The leaders of most of the G7 countries are planning to attend the meeting scheduled between US President Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, the Financial Times (FT) reported, citing three unnamed sources.

According to their information, the main purpose of the meeting scheduled for January 21 is to try to get Trump's personal approval regarding security guarantees for Ukraine.

The article mentions that for these purposes the Prime Ministers of Great Britain, Italy and Canada Keir Starmer, Georgia Maloney and Mark Carney, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen are planning to travel to Switzerland.

It is possible that leaders of other countries joining the so-called coalition, which are ready to help Ukraine, will join the meeting. The publication writes that it is planned to hold a meeting of the national security advisors of the coalition countries in parallel.
