In an interview with Fox News, US Vice President JD Vance apologized to drug addicts and urged them to seek treatment.
"To all the people who love cocaine, I apologize. <...> We urge you to go to a rehabilitation center, and we will continue to protect the interests of America," said Vance, answering the question of journalists about how the United States will fight against drugs.
He added that US President Donald Trump does not like cocaine.
On January 6, US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham announced that, in addition to Venezuela, Colombia and Cuba are also part of the so-called "narco-caliphate" and that Cuba's days are numbered.
