French President Emmanuel Macron signed a special law on financing state institutions in the absence of a 2026 budget, Agence France-Presse reported on Saturday, citing the Saturday issue of the republic's official journal.
The draft special law on the financing of state institutions, in the absence of a budget adopted for 2026, was unanimously approved by both houses of the French Parliament on December 23.
The law extends the 2025 state budget until early next year, before budget deliberations resume in January.
"Emmanuel Macron has signed a special law that will temporarily solve the problem of the lack of a budget for 2026," the article states.
