US President Donald Trump has again announced that the US forces will launch strikes on ground targets in Latin America to fight against drug traffickers.
Speaking at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, the American leader noted that as a result of measures taken by the American military, the volume of drug smuggling to the United States by sea has been reduced by 96%.
“96%, just think about it. Now we're going to do it on land," Trump added, referring to the possibility of hitting land targets associated with drug cartels.
In recent weeks, Trump has repeatedly announced that Washington will start fighting drug smuggling from Latin America by land.
