The United States is ending the "Green Card" lottery program. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Security, Christy Noem, on the X social network.
He explained this decision by the fact that the person who shot at Brown University in December, where two people died, came to the United States under the Diversity Lottery (DV-1) program, that is, he won a Green Card.
"At President Trump's direction, I am immediately directing the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to suspend the DV1 program to ensure that no more Americans are harmed by this harmful program," Noem wrote.
