WP. Trump will sign more executive orders in 2025 than in his entire first term

US President Donald Trump has signed more executive orders since taking office on January 20 than during the entire four years of his first presidential term (2017-2021), The Washington Post reports.

It is noted that the executive order signed by Trump on December 15 to recognize the opioid fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction is the 221st since he took office. During his first term, from 2017 to 2021, Trump signed 220 executive orders.

Less than a year into his second presidency, Trump has signed executive orders that affect a variety of areas, including the economy, law, and culture. The newspaper notes that almost a quarter of them were related to the economy and trade policy.
