"Just two years ago, we established diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. However, it should be noted that quite intensive work has been done during these two years, and today's visit of the delegation led by you proves that the two countries are really striving to create conditions to make the existing cooperation more intensive", said the President of the Republic.
The head of the Armenia-Saudi Arabia friendship group expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, noting in particular: "It is a great honor for me and my colleagues to meet you. We received the warmest welcome here. As you mentioned, although only two years have passed since the establishment of our diplomatic relations, we already see certain signs that indicate the positive development of relations.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to the development agenda of bilateral relations. President Khachaturyan highlighted the process of establishing a stable peace in the region and forming an atmosphere of mutual trust, stressing that Armenia is determined to continue constructive steps in that direction.
The head of the delegation, Ali bin Muhammad Ash-Shahrani, in his turn noted that Saudi Arabia welcomes Armenia's efforts to establish regional peace and is ready to support that process through dialogue and cooperation. The parties emphasized the strengthening of political, economic and business ties between Armenia and Saudi Arabia, as well as the possibilities of expanding cooperation in high technologies, artificial intelligence, education, tourism, sports and a number of other fields. The increase in tourist flows between the countries in recent years was positively assessed by both sides, emphasizing that it indicates the growth of bilateral interest and trust.
