The upcoming meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Budapest will be of ontological significance for Hungary, as it may put an end to the conflict in Ukraine, which is hindering the normal development of the Hungarian economy.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced this in connection with the preparations for the Russian-American summit.
"During the first three years of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Hungary lost 9.1 trillion forints (23.4 billion euros). This means that the losses per family amounted to more than 2 million forints (approximately 5,000 euros),” the head of government wrote on Facebook (which is banned in Russia, owned by the Meta corporation, which is considered extremist in the Russian Federation).
"Energy and gas prices have increased, inflation has increased sharply, sanctions have weakened us, trade volumes have decreased, interest rates have increased, and financing the country has become more expensive.
