Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Spain


On May 22, political consultations between the foreign departments of Armenia and Spain were held in Madrid under the leadership of Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan and State Secretary of Foreign and Global Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain Diego Martinez Bellio. This was reported by the RA Foreign Ministry. The parties discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, emphasizing the existing potential in the economy, high technologies, culture, education, tourism and other fields. Reference was made to the cooperation of the two countries on multilateral platforms. The interlocutors discussed issues related to the further deepening of the RA-EU partnership. Deputy Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan presented to the Spanish partners Armenia's vision of achieving stable peace in the South Caucasus and RA's positions on key issues in the process of regulating relations with Azerbaijan. The deputy minister emphasized that in 1991 On the basis of the Alma-Ata declaration, the importance of mutual recognition of territorial integrity and ensuring maximum clarity in the demarcation process. Paruyr Hovhannisyan referred to issues related to regional transport and economic programs and in that context presented the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the RA government. Thoughts were also exchanged on international agenda. about the approaches of the two countries regarding the issues. The parties emphasized the holding of periodic consultations between the foreign departments of the two countries.
