The decision of the OSCE Ministerial Council marks a new step towards stable peace in the South Caucasus. Valton


OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtenne welcomed the decision of the Council of Ministers, which closes the Minsk process and its structures after the joint application of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"I want to send my warmest congratulations to Armenia and Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan, to start their resolutions on the normalization of peace and relations. I have immediately responded to their joint application and want to express my sincere gratitude to the parties for excellent cooperation in the process. I also appreciate the participating states for its support in achieving this agreement, "Valtanne said.

The decision of the Ministerial Council was made through consensus of all 57 OSCE participating States.

"The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and the OSCE Secretary General reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to support efforts that allow long peace and stability in Armenia, Azerbaijan and a broader region.

After the adoption of this decision, the OSCE will take steps to liquidate the structures related to it. Until the end of the process, no later than December 1, 2025, only administrative functions, such as assets and equipment transfer, - the OSCE press service said.
