Latvia will provide at least 2 million euros to Ukraine to buy weapons from the United States

The Latvian government will provide at least 2 million euros for Ukraine to buy American weapons, said the Prime Minister of the Baltic Republic Evika Silina.

"Latvia will allocate the financial volume for this initiative yet, but it will not be less than 2 million euros," the Delfi portal quoted its words. The Prime Minister noted that Rigan Kiev will buy "both air defense systems and other necessary weapons."

On July 14, US President Donald Trump announced during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutse on the supply of American weapons at the expense of European countries. The bloc will coordinate supplies that will include Patriot systems, and the possibility of transfer of such 17 systems is being discussed.
