The Ukrainian authorities have come up with a gas export scheme alternative to the one that currently exists. This was reported by RBC, with reference to sources cited by RBC Ukraine. The option proposed by Kiev involves replacing Russian gas with Azerbaijani gas. The intended acquirer purchases this energy carrier at the entry point from Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation or from the Russian Federation to Ukraine. At the same time, the owner of the gas himself negotiates on transporting gas through the territory of the Russian Federation and pumping it into Ukrainian storage facilities.
