The Minister of Oil of Iran called for the creation of a working group in the energy sector at the meeting with the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan

Iran's Oil Minister Paknejad called for the creation of a joint working group in order to continue and speed up bilateral cooperation, especially in the energy sector, during the meeting with Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Iranian Mehr agency writes.


During the meeting with Mustafaev on Tuesday afternoon, Paknejad, emphasizing the improvement of cooperation between the two countries, said that the neighbors have priority in Iran's foreign policy, and that the position towards Azerbaijan is special among them.


Noting that the oil and energy sector is one of the cornerstones of the development of economic relations, Paknejad said that Iran welcomes any initiative offered by Azerbaijan aimed at increasing the level of cooperation, but added that such cooperation requires necessary infrastructures, writes Mehr. .


The Minister of Oil of Iran instructed the Deputy Minister of Oil to create a Tehran-Baku joint working group and ensure its operation.
