The solar wind could shake up Earth's magnetosphere, leading to a weak magnetic storm this coming Wednesday, October 16. This is reported by the Phobos Meteorological Center. The publication notes that in the near future the Earth will pass through a fast solar wind stream, which will lead to medium-level magnetic storms of the G1-G2 class.
"The first signs of this in the form of weak disturbances in the geomagnetic field have already been observed today," Phobos explains.
Meanwhile, experts believe that there are currently two active groups of sunspots on the Sun that are beginning to energize and have now reached the level of forming M-class flares; this is the fourth level. However, the probability that they will have time to hit the Earth is small.
