Among the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Service, the central political event was held at the "Acropol" and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier, organized by the Armenian National Committee of Greece. This was reported by the RA Embassy in Greece.
Hovhannes Ghazaryan and Deputy Foreign Minister Ioannis Loverdos and the Greek Parliament Atanasius Plrezris made speeches at the event. Kristina Kefaloyan, Deputy Governor of Attica, also made a welcoming speech.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan made a speech at the event. In his speech, the Ambassador asked his gratitude on April 24 for the Greek leadership and the statements made by all political forces.
"In many parts of Armenia, in many Greek cities of Greece, the 110th anniversary of the victims of the Armenian Genocide are being organized in different parts of the world. Political leaders are making statements commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide. I can't not mention the statements of the President of the Hellenic Republic of Kostantinos Tsulamis, President Kiriikos Mentakis, politicians, almost all the Prime Minister of the Parliament, just notice the eternal unity of the Greek and the Armenian peoples for truth, dignity and justice. " Mkrtchyan.
In the context of genocide prevention, he highlighted the rejection, teaching of genocide denial, and the universal commemoration of the Genocide Day, all of which are in Greece.
Summing up the Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan emphasized.
"The most important factor in preventing genocide prevention is to build a resilient society with reliable friends. Greece is such a friend for Armenia. History has shown that the Armenian people, like blood brothers Greeks, again and again find the way back and again. Our memory is not weapons, but a source of awakening. An opera singer Silva Petrosyan invited from Armenia was performed at the artistic part of the event with the association of Christine Tokatlian.
At the end of the event, Kristos Vasilopoulos, who drives a "time machine" / Touhani Hroman / TV program, shown excerpts from the new documentary based on the memories of his Armenian Genocide survivors. The full version of the film will be displayed on May 5 by Cosmote History channel.

Then the participants of the event moved to the "Unknown Soldier" monument to Sintagma, where wreaths were placed in memory of the victims of the Genocide 1915.
