US President Donald Trump's Administration assesses Syrian transitional President Ahmed al-Sharaa, the country's ability to manage the country for possible reduction of American troops and humanitarian assistance programs. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing sources.
"We do not seek to save Syria for the sake of the Syrian people. We strive to ensure that Iran does not return, the "Islamic state" does not return, as it is in the interests of the American people, "said the American official.
Another official stressed that the Trump administration plans to reduce the number of troops "minimum" and keep them in the north-east.
