In the last 7 days, the cases of coronavirus have increased by 22.5% compared to the previous same period

Acute respiratory infections are the most common group of diseases in the world, the causative agents of which are mainly viruses, including: influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, adenovirus, bocavirus, and other viral pathogens.

They can become severe and cause complications, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, ear infection, etc. Children, especially during the first years of life, the elderly and people with chronic diseases are the most vulnerable group for the development of complications.

As a result of the weekly monitoring carried out in order to reveal the trends in the spread of acute respiratory infections, in the 41st week of 2024, an average activity caused by acute respiratory infections was recorded in RA, the incidence increased by 1.2 times compared to the previous week, which is consistent with the specified period of the season, and compared to the same period last week, it is 1.1 times lower. 71% of cases were 0-18 years old.

No flu viruses were found as a result of laboratory tests of samples within the framework of case epidemiological observation.

Among other respiratory infections, the causative agents of rhinovirus and coronavirus disease SARS-Cov-2 were found.

The cases of coronavirus disease recorded in the last 7 days increased by 22.5% compared to the previous same period, and the cases recorded in the last 14 days decreased by 31% compared to the previous same period.

In order not to get sick with acute respiratory infections, as well as to avoid complications, the Ministry of Health reminds and urges AGAIN:

Get vaccinated against seasonal flu by contacting a primary health care organization.

avoid contact with patients with symptoms typical of acute respiratory infections,

if you are sick, stay at home, especially do not allow children with symptoms typical of acute respiratory infections to attend school and kindergarten, ensuring consultation and treatment by a doctor;

if you are sick, call your local pediatrician, therapist or family doctor and do not self-medicate.

Do not use antibiotics, as they are not indicated for the treatment of flu and acute respiratory infections.
