On October 13, a stabbing took place in Yerevan. Around 23:15, the Mashtots Police Department of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information that a citizen was transferred from the 4th street of the 3rd village to the "Armenia" medical center. As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports, the police found out that the person taken to the hospital was Gevorg Simonyan, a 39-year-old resident of Yerevan, who was then transferred from the "Armenia" medical center to the "Astghik" medical center. According to preliminary information, he was taken to the hospital "with head injury, coma condition" diagnosis.
He is in the intensive care unit. Due to the fact of the incident, criminal proceedings were initiated in the investigative department of Ajapnyak and Davitashen administrative districts. In the hospital, friends and relatives of the injured told the police and investigators that G. Simonyan works as the director of "Yerevan City" network. The police are also investigating whether the information about his work is reliable.
