Russia can turn off electricity throughout the United Kingdom. The British Daily Mail paper writes about this.

The publication noted that the most important component of the UK's underwater infrastructure is Viking Link current cable. According to journalists, the Russian military allegedly could easily damage what would cause power outage in the whole kingdom.
The newspaper added that special concern caused the discovery of the Russian Oceanic Yantar ship in the section where the cable passes.
In January, the EXPRESS newspaper reported that the British military was ready to detain Russian ships near the Kingdom. According to the publication, such a measure can be used if the ships perform suspicious actions, such as damaging underwater pipelines and cables.
