Against the background of the arrest of Istanbul Mayor Ekimamoglu, Turkish law enforcement arrested more than 50 people suspected of making provocative entries on social networks. Ali Erlikayan, head of the country's Interior Ministry of Internal Affairs, told the social network.
Protests took place in Ankara and Istanbul on Thursday, in support of the mayor of Istanbul, the mayor of Istanbul. "As a result of the systematic efforts of our department, 54 suspects have been detained, and the arrest of additional suspects continues," Begoikayan wrote.
According to him, 16 policemen were injured during the protests.
