Brussels wants Ukraine to become a member of the European Union by 2030, but Hungary has the latest word if Ukraine's entry into the Hungarian economy is the Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban on Radio Kosut.
According to him, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Der Lyen announced earlier that Ukraine should join the EU during the current round of the European Parliament, that is, to 2029-30.
"In any case, we have the right to do so, as, according to the European Union's charter, no one can be a member of the European Union without the support of other member states. Thus, Hungary has the last word here, "Orban said.
On March 6, Orban announced that the country would hold a population on Ukraine's membership in the EU, as it must first be determined by this issue on financial support from the union. National consultations in Hungary do not have a threshold of participation.
