"Representatives of car companies have applied to me, alarming unequal competitive conditions. As it is known, the quota of the interest-free customs duty of vehicles for 2025 has been set for 8,000 vehicles.
According to the RA Government, 3,000 of the 8,000 quotas can be formulated directly by the signature-distribution agreement, and 5,000 by the entities (including individuals) not mentioned in point 1.
However, statistics and facts speak of other reality. In the last two months, subjects and individuals have imported about 5,000 vehicles with an electric motor, and official dealers are 400.
The latter, too often, immediately instead of signing a dealer-distribution agreement with the automaker, they import cars by opening or opening a scarcity of individuals.
In fact, cars continue to pay customs duties and have to sell imported vehicles more expensive, finding it in a non-competitive environment.
It would be logical if the distribution of quotas will be reviewed. For example, for March, the dealers will be allocated for 200 quoters, and the rest, which is about 2,400 quotas, will be provided to individuals.
It should be noted that hundreds of vehicles imported by the latter are already on the road, and in the case of non-reconstruction of this decision, the fair redistribution of high customs duties will be to some extent.
