The US authorities are going to check the gold reserves in the Fort Knox military base in Kentucky, President Donald Trump announced.
"We hope all is well at the Fort Knox base, if we go to Fort Knox to find out there is no gold there we will be very disappointed."- Bloomberg quotes Trump as saying.
As the agency notes, Trump made this comment amid discussions that the US Treasury may revalue the value of gold in the US reserve.
At the same time, people familiar with the matter say,that the idea is not being seriously discussed by Trump's economic advisers.
According to the agency, more than half of the gold reserves of the US Treasury are stored at the Fort Knox military base.
