RPA Vice Chairman Armen Ashotyan writes:
“WHAT IS NIKOL HIDDING?
During his last self-talk, part of Pashinyan’s speech was dedicated to a possible European referendum and Armenia-EU issues. For now, putting aside his ambiguous hints on that issue and already visible manipulations, let me reveal to you what Nikol is hiding from us on this issue as well.
Some will remember how a few years ago he presented certain numbers from the Eastern Partnership Civic Forum’s 2021 index, cut off from reality and context, about how close we are to the EU, how much we comply with European standards in various fields.
Let me remind you that Armenia has traditionally been represented in that forum by mostly biased, in some cases, clearly “Sorosian” NGOs and activists. And that fake and falsified record was parroted by various representatives of Pashinyan’s “deck”, from the personal ambassador to the parliamentary bagpipers.
I had revealed and published what was actually recorded in that report before my imprisonment.
And now, already under house arrest, digging through, reading and getting acquainted with the documents, materials and reports that had been omitted during that time, the turn came for the new Eastern Partnership report for 2023, the results of which are not only lacking proper coverage in the press, but also “surprisingly” silent by the government propaganda machine.
Let me introduce you to why the Nikolenkos covered up that report. Regardless of the official rhetoric, the falsifications presented to the public, and the rustic Eurocentrics, even partially from their own and loyal authors, this document reveals like an X-ray the Nicholas cancer, abscesses, the existence and growth of gallstones in various sectors of the country.
Let's talk in the language of numbers and facts.
In the Eastern Partnership Index 2023, Armenia ranked only 4th with 0.61 points, falling behind Moldova (0.7 points), Ukraine (0.66 points) and Georgia (0.63 points), respectively.
Armenia's index also decreased compared to 2021 (0.64), recording not only backwardness, but also regression.
Armenia's indicators in individual blocks of the rating also burst the official propaganda bubbles.
Thus, in the “Democracy, good governance, rule of law” section, Armenia is 3rd out of 6, in the “Policy in line with EU standards” section we are 4th out of 6, and in “Sustainable development” we are even 5th out of 6, conceding even to Belarus.
The only sub-indicator in which Armenia was ranked first is the fight against corruption, but even in that case the authors of the report clearly recorded a significant regression compared to 2021 (by 0.10 points, the same as Azerbaijan), while Moldova and Ukraine have experienced tangible progress.
Armenia is the last in the energy and transport sector policy.
The most ridiculous thing is our country’s last position in the “peace and partnership” indicator, as a measure of the Nicholas propaganda of the “era of peace”.
Although Armenia has been viewed as relatively stable, there is a visible stagnation of reforms and the potential for regression in vital areas.
Armenia’s decline in the index is associated with slippages in the areas of democracy, governance, particularly state accountability, press independence, freedom of assembly and opinion, and the fight against corruption.
The report documents fatigue with reforms, a disconnect between law and practice, and thus the slowdown in rapprochement with the EU.
The appointment of Anahit Manasyan as the Ombudsman has worsened Armenia's indicators, creating tangible risks of politicization of the activities of this important institution.
I will be content with this, although I could cite several dozen other important and debunking Nikol's lies. If you wish, you can independently and in more detail familiarize yourself with that report at the following link.
Brief conclusions:
A) Even institutions and circles loyal to the Pashinyan regime are unable or unwilling to cover up the deepening negative consequences of his tenure.
B) Under Nikol, we are not only not approaching EU standards, but are retreating in both democratic and sectoral indicators.
C) The official propaganda will continue to put the Armenian people in the place of Asinus (Latin for donkey) on these issues as well.
However, even the most patient asinus, if it is a Davidite, has the ability to give a painful, even fatal kick to the rider who is trying to please him.
