The daily newspaper "Zhoghovurd" writes:
“The criminal case against the colonel who was detained after the 2018 revolution has been closed by the Investigative Committee after 6 years.
This was reported to the “Zhoghovurd” daily by informed sources close to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
“Zhoghovurd” daily wrote that the case of Vahan Avetisyan, a member of the investigative commission of the 44-day war and former head of the Radio-Electronic Warfare Troops Department, has been transferred from the National Security Service to the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
As is known, Avetisyan appeared in the defendant’s seat within the framework of the criminal case of the alleged acquisition of unnecessary weapons worth $42 million during the reign of the third President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, and was released after 6 months of detention.
The case was being investigated by the National Security Service, but was later transferred to the military investigative department.
As a result, the preliminary investigation body investigated for 6 years and made a new decision to close this criminal case. Say "...that is, law enforcement officers were unable to prove that the weapons purchased for $42 million during the reign of the third president of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, were useless."
It is on this basis, according to reliable information received by us, that the criminal case was dismissed."
