According to the source, after flying over Greece and Bulgaria, the plane turned to the north-east in the area of ​​the city of Burgas, after which it moved along the coast of the Black Sea. It was reported that the Boeing P-8A Poseidon was flying in a circle in the area of ​​the mouth of the Danube River in eastern Romania. Before this, German fighters intercepted Russian planes over the Baltic Sea.

The German Eurofighter escorted one Su-35 and four Su-30 over the Baltic Sea. In turn, the Su-27 intercepted the British reconnaissance aircraft and fighters over the Black Sea.
