Iran has acquired a batch of Russian Su-35 fighter jets, General of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ali Shadmani announced, Entekhab reports.

"When necessary, we make military purchases to strengthen our air, land and sea forces," he said.

Su-35 is a 4++ generation multi-purpose highly maneuverable fighter. The aircraft is designed to destroy air, ground and ground targets, infrastructure facilities protected by anti-aircraft systems and located at a considerable distance.
