Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed the events taking place in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, the situation around Lebanon and the situation in Syria. This was stated in the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry after the telephone conversation between the ministers.
"The ministers exchanged views on the key aspects of the global and regional agenda, emphasizing the latest developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, the situation around Lebanon, as well as the situation in Syria, which requires the mobilization of a broad external effort under the auspices of the United Nations, all political and to facilitate the organization of a comprehensive national dialogue with the participation of ethno-sectarian Syrian forces.
They emphasized their mutual commitment to maintaining close foreign policy coordination, including at international organizations," the diplomatic service reported.
The Foreign Ministry added that Sergey Lavrov and Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan confirmed the mutual interest of Moscow and Abu Dhabi in the further progressive development of the multilateral strategic partnership, "based on the agreements reached at the highest level", in particular during the negotiations with Russia.
