The cease-fire agreement between the Lebanese Shia movement "Hezbollah" and Israel, which expires next week, is likely to be extended. This is reported by Bloomberg, referring to sources.
Hezbollah and Israel, according to Lebanese, Israeli and French officials, need more time to fulfill the initial terms of a ceasefire agreed in late November and have no intention of resuming hostilities.
According to a high-ranking Israeli diplomat, the parties are discussing the issue of extending the ceasefire, which expires on January 27, in order to prevent the resumption of the conflict. Since Israel and Lebanon do not have diplomatic relations, they cannot negotiate without mediators, so the representatives of Lebanon, Israel and France participate in the settlement.
According to the agency, although the ceasefire has been in effect in Lebanon since November, Hezbollah and Israel accuse each other of violating its terms.
