Today, the citizen lives in a reality where he is bombarded with various information every day.
In recent days, the authorities of Armenia signed a document on strategic partnership with the outgoing US administration, the discourse on the EU membership bill began, and the discussions on the withdrawal of ACP and EAEU membership became active.
In another reality, fake trials are going on in Azerbaijan, where our compatriots are in the accused's seat. Aren't the documents being signed or discussed like candy with shiny paper, attractive packaging, and there is nothing inside the shiny paper?
Political scientist Ara Poghosyan says that deepening and developing cooperation with any state is a positive process.
This is presented in the propaganda field as a salvation document, which has nothing to do with reality and the truth. And the truth is that Armenia has only received an opportunity to cooperate more deeply, I emphasize an opportunity, there is no imperative norm by which the United States will assume an obligation towards Armenia. economic, financial, military, security, etc.
There is no question of obligation here, because this is a strategic cooperation charter. The strategic cooperation commission's charter means that the work of that commission must be regulated around the goals set by the charter.
The Republic of Armenia has signed many such charters, which should not be confused with strategic partnership.
Strategic partnership agreements are interstate agreements that require mandatory ratification, and this statute does not require ratification.
This is a signed document of the parties' intentions. How it will be realized, capitalized in practical and applied policy will already depend on a number of factors.
For example, both from the geopolitical conditions and the interests pursued by the United States in our region, or, in general, what will be the interests of the United States in our region at the moment, will they be a priority or not among the priorities, what will they be? The actions of the authorities of the Republic of Armenia, will we be able to realize this, bring it to the level of strategic cooperation or partnership?
At this moment, we need to confirm whether we have a document that provides a certain scope of cooperation," says Poghosyan in a conversation with "Pasti".
It turns out that the "noise" created around the document is more than the benefit. "We have to consider both the noise created around this and the ongoing propaganda tricks in the current political situation in the Republic of Armenia.
What is it like? Unfortunately, the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the Armenian political field, are divided into different currents, not ideological, but foreign political currents: pro-Western, pro-Russian, etc.
The propagandists of the transition to the West must show the people some achievement, by which they will convince them that, look, our way is true, our way is creating opportunities.
For this, at least a document of any form is needed, where there will be bright words: strategic cooperation, strategic goal, strategic interest.
These are key words with which an attempt is made to convince the public that when we enter into a strategic partnership with the United States, all the problems of Armenia will be solved, Azerbaijan will be afraid and will not attack again.
In the propaganda field, some propagandists already have theses that Baku is worried about this document, Baku wanted to attack, but will not attack again, etc.
These are theses necessary for specific groups, groups that will justify their existence with this, because without results their existence is meaningless in the political dimension.
There are elections ahead, the Republic of Armenia has no achievements on the foreign front, on the contrary, there are new challenges.
In domestic politics, everything is much more chaotic, there is no unity, there are no ideas around which the people will unite.
As a result of all this, the government has to show some shiny words to ask for votes, regardless of whether they are real or not, whether they will be implemented or not I think this will be used especially in the pre-election campaign.
They will say that Armenia's security level has increased significantly because we signed such a document with the United States.
Is it a commission charter, or is it a document like the one recently signed by the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran, or a partnership like the one between the United States and Israel?
The Armenian authorities will present the signed document as manna from heaven, and many, unfortunately, not delving into the problem, will believe it, and some will vote for them," our interlocutor notes.
In this way, does not the resistance of our society decrease even more? We hope that someone will come to protect and save us. :
Just as too much negativity affects public and national resistance in a negative sense, so does the euphoric propaganda that the United States will solve our problems instead of us, and it used to be the Russian Federation.
I want to emphasize that people who carry such propaganda are not only acting against Russia, but deep down they are against the United States and the West in general.
By forming exaggerated expectations among the public, the same public is being prepared to curse the United States and the European Union in the same way tomorrow for not solving their problems for them.
These people convince the Armenian people that the USA will solve our problems instead of us, they convince people in the framework of propaganda towards the EU that we will live well, our standard of living will be the same as in the EU countries, our technological development will be such.
It's actually a sham and a scam because you have to achieve them yourself.
"No one will ever give us anything. Unfortunately, they don't tell the public, they only tell the shiny part, which shines like gold, but deep down it's a disappointment," concludes Ara Poghosyan.
