"Fact" daily writes:
Recently, the RA government approved the bill "On the start of the process of the accession of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union".
It's true, Pashinyan noted that this does not mean Armenia's membership in the EU yet, however, he added that a referendum should be held, and the "western wing" of the Armenian political field has organized such an information campaign as if Armenia is already a member of the EU.
After all this, quite harsh assessments were made from Russia, in particular, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk stated that the EAEU and the EU are incompatible, and Armenia should make a choice between these two structures.
And the Vice-President of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, noted that "I will not be surprised if Pashinyan, who has shaved his beard [after the recent statements of the Azerbaijani president], remembers that Armenia is a CSTO member."
He also teased. "Taking into account the desire of the Armenian leaders to marry the EU, it is possible to directly appeal to the Europeans. In the EU, they like to help "candidates for entry to heaven" with money and weapons." According to our information, in Russia, as they say, "the cup of patience is full."
And although the Minister of Economy of Armenia announced yesterday that there is no question of leaving the EAEU on Armenia's agenda, it is not excluded that in the coming days Russia itself will initiate the process of withdrawing Armenia from the EAEU as well as CSTO.
It is not difficult to predict what consequences this will have for Armenia.
It is no coincidence that the same Overchuk said that if Armenia's relations with the EAEU are limited, on the one hand, energy and food products will become more expensive, and on the other hand, the export of Armenian products will decrease by 70-80 percent."
