"Zhoghovurd" daily writes:
"Nikol Pashinyan is turning the officials he has made heroes into accused and corrupt one by one.
From the hero to the accused, this epic began with the Minister of Emergency Situations, Andranik Piloyan.
The latter was awarded the title of national hero by Nikol Pashinyan in October 2020, during the 44-day war, when he was the commander of one of the army corps.
After the war, he was appointed Minister of Emergency Situations. Just 2 years after his heroization, in March 2022, Piloyan was arrested on charges of accepting bribes and abusing his official position. The next "accused-hero" is Tiran Khachatryan, the former first deputy head of the State Security Service.
Tiran Khachatryan, who received the title of National Hero during the 44-day war of 2020, was charged in a case related to the same war.
"Zhoghovurd" daily newspaper sent a request to Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the press secretary of the RA Prime Minister, asking him to answer the following questions: "In 2020, Nikol Pashinyan awarded the title of national hero to the former deputy head of the General Staff, Tiran Khachatryan, for his exploits in the 44-day war.
Now the same Tiran Khachatryan has been charged with military official negligence during martial law. Why was he charged after so many years? What has been revealed? On what basis was he awarded the title of hero? What feats did Nikol Pashinyan appreciate? "Worthy of the title of hero. Will the title of hero be revoked?"
We received incomplete answers to these questions from the Prime Minister's office, which we present below.
At the same time, we inform you that the addressee of the questions related to the criminal case requested in the letter is not the RA Prime Minister's staff."
