Ahmed al-Sharaa, the leader of the armed groups that came to power in Damascus, invited the former vice president of Syria, Farouk al-Sharaa, to participate in the national dialogue conference. Al Hadath TV channel, whose headquarters is in Dubai, reports this.
The two politicians met several times after the transitional government came to power in Syria. The nephew of the former vice president confirmed to the TV channel that 86-year-old Farooq al-Sharaa accepted the invitation and will participate in the dialogue, the date of which has not yet been announced.
In 2011, after the outbreak of the Syrian crisis, Farouk al-Sharaa spoke out against the violent crackdown on anti-government protests that swept the country.
