Grigoryan and Overchuk signed a mutually agreed protocol

The 23rd session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation was held in Moscow under the co-chairmanship of RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and RF Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk.

According to the results of the plenary session of the intergovernmental commission, the deputy prime ministers of the two countries made speeches and then signed the mutually agreed protocol.

Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan noted with satisfaction the implementation of the instructions given during the previous session, emphasized the high level of cooperation in trade and economy, transport, energy, healthcare, education and other areas of mutual interest.

Mher Grigoryan expressed confidence that the significant simplification of transportation and control procedures at the checkpoints, and in particular at the Upper Lars checkpoint, will help ensure the uninterrupted operation of the supply chain, as well as have a positive effect on strengthening business ties and increasing the competitiveness of the economies of both countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister also considered the successful implementation of the pilot program between Armenia and Russia to ensure the smooth movement of goods through navigation barriers for some types of products.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia confirmed the readiness of the Armenian side to expand cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy and within its framework to emphasize the partnership in the field of nuclear medicine.

Summarizing the speech, the Deputy Prime Minister noted. "I would like to once again reaffirm our determination to further strengthen the reliable dialogue in all areas of mutual interest and to fully reveal the existing potential of the consistent development of cooperation between Armenia and Russia."
