India refused to sell weapons to Azerbaijan. ThePrint:

Azerbaijan has expressed its desire to buy weapons from India through a third country, but New Delhi has stated that it decides its priorities independently and will not allow a third country to play the role of an intermediary, writes ThePrint, referring to sources.

The newspaper did not specify which country it is about. According to mass media, Baku has never directly raised this issue before the Indian authorities. Instead, a third country turned to India, offering to export its weapons and establish a long-term partnership with Azerbaijan.

Baku is ready to offer conditions that are comparable to the agreements that Armenia signed with India in the past, the publication says.

In this way, the Azerbaijani authorities are trying to establish a "balance of power" in the region, ThePrint added.

In September 2022, Armenia signed a $244 million arms purchase agreement with India. India delivered the first six 155 mm ATAGS artillery systems to Armenia in August 2023, the testing of which was completed in October 2024.
