Assad refused a meeting with the Turkish side, Fidan said

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that Bashar al-Assad refused to meet with the Turkish side, despite Ankara’s repeated attempts through the mediation of third countries.

"No, no. We tried to come, we wanted to, but they (Syrian side) refused. I mean, I asked for it. We even used countries in the region as mediators, especially Iraq, and I will not mention other countries He (Assad) rejected all (the proposals),” Fidan said in an interview with Al Arabiya TV channel, answering a question about meetings with Assad.
