The foreign ministers of eight Arab countries called for an end to military operations in Syria

The foreign ministers of eight Arab countries (Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Qatar, Lebanon, UAE, Saudi Arabia) have called to stop all military operations in Syria. This was stated in the statement adopted as a result of their meeting in Aqaba, Jordan.

In the document published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, the ministers confirmed the "necessity of the immediate cessation of all military operations" in Syria. The ministers also called for the preservation of Syrian state institutions in order to prevent chaos in the republic.

"We reaffirm the need to preserve Syria's state institutions and expand their capacity to serve the Syrian people and protect the country from falling into chaos," reads the document, the text of which was published by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry.

In addition, the foreign ministers expressed their desire to intensify their efforts in the fight against terrorism, which poses a threat to the security of Syria.
