Kobakhidze. Kavelashvili's election as president will strengthen Georgia's statehood

The election of former MP Mikheil Kavelashvili, the candidate nominated by the ruling "Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia" party for the position of the President of Georgia, will contribute to the strengthening of the country's statehood and sovereignty. Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze announced this in a briefing.

"I am sure that the election of Mikhail Kavelashvili to the most important position will make a very important contribution to the strengthening of Georgian statehood and our sovereignty, as well as to the reduction of radicalism and polarization in our country," he said.

Kobakhidze congratulated Kavelashvili on his election as the head of the state and noted that "there has not been a more patriotic and psychologically balanced president in Georgia for more than two years."

According to him, in this regard, the election of Kavelashvili will be a turning point. Also, during Kavelashvili's reign, as the prime minister noted, the presidency institution will regain its constitutional mission and dignity.
