Szijjártó believes that settlement in Ukraine can become a reality

The newly elected US President Donald Trump is committed to solving the Ukrainian conflict, said the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations, Peter Szijártó, who met with the future US President's National Security Assistant, Mike Waltz, in Washington on Wednesday.

"We are very close to Donald Trump's goal of quickly ending this war," he said in an interview with M1 TV, sharing his impressions of a conversation with Republican congressman Waltz, who was appointed by Trump as national security assistant.

At the same time, Sijarto noted that during the meeting of the heads of foreign affairs departments of NATO countries held in Brussels on December 3-4, the current US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken expressed a completely different position aimed at continuing the conflict in Ukraine.

Siyarto reminded that the Ukrainian conflict was one of the topics of the US election campaign, and "while Donald Trump spoke clearly about his desire to end the war, Kamala Harris advocated the continuation of military operations."
