Saudi crown prince refuses to attend G7 summit due to upcoming hajj

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Salman Al Saud has refused to participate in the G7 summit, which will take place on June 13-15 in the Italian country town of Borgo Egnatia (Apulia). This was reported by the Saudi Press Agency. Mohammed bin Salman sent a telegram to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in which he thanked for the invitation and apologized for not being able to participate in the event "due to obligations related to the supervision of the organization of the Hajj." This year, the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca begins on June 14. The annual meeting of the leaders of the "Big Seven" will begin on Thursday morning.
