NATO parliamentarians are concerned about the policies that Donald Trump will pursue towards the alliance upon his return to the White House, Swiss MP Jacqueline De Quatro said in an interview with the Swiss newspaper
Tribune de Genève at the end of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
"Yes, obviously, because everyone is wondering what his foreign policy will be. Will it be isolationist, like the one he advocates at the economic level? Will the US begin to scale back its political and military involvement? Or does it want to remain a global regulatory power. This big question,” she responded to a question about whether there was any sense of unease at the assembly.
De Quatro added that Trump's threats to leave the Alliance if Europeans do not devote 2% of their GDP to defense are a "wake-up call."
