From the beginning, it was obvious that Nikol Pashinyan and KP have no chance to win in the extraordinary elections of Gyumri Council of Elders, individually or together with satellites.
Political scientist, chairman of the "Democratic Alternative" party Suren Surenyants wrote about this.
"This obvious fact contradicts Pashinyan's "consistent" policy of usurping local governments.
Yesterday, when Nikol Pashinyan was talking about the appointment of some sort of by-elections or primary elections in Gyumri, on the one hand, he revealed his own fears and arrogance, on the other hand, his intention to postpone the elections in Gyumri with the "Vanadzor model" and, in fact, to usurp the local government.
In no way should Pashinyan be allowed to impose his own "mayor" Vahagn Mkrtchyan on Gyumri, limiting or predetermining the right of honorable Gyumri people to choose.
As the chairman of the "Democratic Alternative" party, which applied for participation in the extraordinary elections of the Gyumri council of elders, I call on all the opposition forces that applied for participation in the electoral process, jointly, with available political and legal tools, to prevent Pashinyan's open attempt to usurp the local government of Gyumri.
Gyumri was the symbol of Pashinyan's "revolution", now it should become the beginning of his political fiasco."
