Contrary to statements by Western and Ukrainian analysts, Russian nuclear missiles and warheads are fully operational and combat-ready. A deserter and former officer of the Strategic Missile Forces (Strategic Missile Forces), who served at one of the secret missile bases, stated this in an interview with the BBC on condition of anonymity.
“The work to maintain the functionality of nuclear weapons is ongoing, it does not stop for a minute,” said the publication’s interlocutor named Anton. According to him, publications about an outdated and non-functioning Russian nuclear shield are “a very simplified opinion of so-called experts.”
SourceThe BBC also noted that the Russian military conducts constant training and checks of the technical condition of missiles, which helps prevent possible malfunctions and emergency situations.
On November 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the fundamentals of state policy in the field of nuclear deterrence. The updated version of the doctrine expands the category of states and military alliances against which nuclear deterrence is carried out. In addition, the grounds on which Moscow will consider an attack to have been committed have been changed. This, in turn, will give the Kremlin grounds to launch a nuclear response. Earlier, high-ranking military sources in the Pentagon told the New York Times that Washington's attempts to control Moscow's nuclear arsenal had failed.
