France has stated that the threat to Europe in the Middle East is limited

The possibility of threats in France and Europe related to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East is limited. Nicola Lerner, head of the French Directorate General of Foreign Intelligence (DGSE), made such a statement in an interview with Le Point magazine.

"In the short term, continued war and the associated humanitarian tragedies" could lead to "violent actions by those who are obligated to act in defense of Palestine or Muslims," Lerner said.

At the same time, in his opinion, "thanks to the work of the intelligence services, the threat in France and Europe is limited."

The director of the French foreign intelligence also emphasized that at the moment the intelligence services do not record the active activities of the groups from which these threats may originate.

"However, if the conflict drags on, a number of local groups may try to spread their activities outside of Israel. This is a phenomenon that we must beware of, given our historical experience," he added.
