Russia is targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure with a large-scale missile and drone attack

Russia launched a massive drone and missile attack on Ukraine on Sunday in what officials described as its largest in months, targeting energy infrastructure and killing civilians, pbs.org reported.

The attack comes as fears grow over Moscow's plans to destroy Ukraine's electricity generation capacity ahead of winter.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russia had launched 120 missiles and 90 drones in a large-scale attack across Ukraine. According to him, various types of unmanned aerial vehicles were deployed, including Iranian-made Shaheds, as well as cruise, ballistic and aircraft-launched ballistic missiles.

The Air Force of Ukraine hit 144 out of 210 air targets, the Air Force of Ukraine announced later on Sunday.
