German Chancellor Olaf Scholz considers his phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin very important. He noted that he did not find anything in the words of the Russian leader that would indicate a change in Moscow's position on the Ukrainian conflict.
"The conversation was detailed, but I understood that little has changed in the views of the Russian president. This is not good news," the chancellor said.
Scholz said he intends to continue communicating with Putin and plans to speak with him "soon."
