Sargis Khandanyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly, referred to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement that the content of the Declaration of Independence is that the Republic of Armenia cannot exist.
Answering the journalists' question about what the Declaration of Independence threatens Armenia with and whether he shares the position of the Prime Minister, Khandanyan said that it is about the content and the emphasis in the Declaration of Independence.
"That document was adopted in 1990, when there was no independent Armenia, but the vision described in the Declaration of Independence depicts the independent Republic of Armenia very unrealistically, so I share that approach," Khandanyan said, according to Armenpress.
During the discussion of the draft law on the state budget for 2025 in the National Assembly, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in his final speech that the content of the Declaration of Independence is that the Republic of Armenia cannot exist.
